the atkins!!! it is kinda hard in the beginning but it really pays off, you could lose up to 20 lb in 2 weeks.

i do it and within 5 days i usually lose 8 lb

only 20 carbs a day, all types of greens and all types of meat

Try the 1200 calorie diet and no exercise needed. Unless you want faster results.

Diets work for me for a while, then I gain it all back when I go off the program. Last January I decided I needed to loose weight. I am 5′4″, and I weighed 155 pounds, and was wearing a tight size 12. I lost 10 pounds by June, then plateaued. I was so frustrated! I decided to join Weight Watchers At Work program in September. It is a wonderful way to eat! There is nothing I couldn’t eat if I really wanted it. I don’t think I will have any problem eating like this forever. I now weigh 120 pounds, and wear a size 4. I am a true believer in this way of eating, and learning to “move” every day.

I wish you the best of luck, no matter what you decide to try.

Some people say that targeted weight loss is not a possibility however if you happen to be having difficulties to shed weight from the midriff it could be due to additional waste in the colon, not additional fat. You can take a supplement to flush out as much as twenty lbs from the body, there is a risk free trial at

First, I would warn you that if you are young (under 30) then losing 50 lbs off (30% of your body weight) might be ok. But, if you are older this might be too much to lose for your general health - plus, it is much harder (your metabolism slows down). It is very hard to lose 20lbs starting at 180lbs. I would strive for 25lbs first and then see how you look and feel.

Sounds like your doing the right exercise - keep that going - so that isn’t the problem. I’m guessing, but it sounds like your dietary intake is not right for weight loss.

Starving yourself is never a good way to lose weight. It is almost always temporary, you lose energy, and never feel very good. On top of that I also don’t believe in carb only or protein only diets. These tend to starve a part of your body nutritionally.

You want a diet that increases energy but reduces your calories. I would recommend something that use balanced nutrition and more frequent, smaller meals - such as weight watchers, the zone diet, or the diet solution program. These focus on a balance of protein, carbs and fat in a proportional way that allow you to lose weight but stay healthy nutriionally.

Also, spreading your eating out to more meals / snacks that keep your energy up and hunger down. Using low calorie snacks and water between can help too.

Now add to that some form of exercise and you’ve got a winning solution! Take a look at your current diet - balance out the carbs, protein and fat to a 4:3:3 ratio and put some focus on your meal plans for the day. Sometimes just dropping one habit a day can be 200-400 calories right there.

Remember, you have to burn about 500 calories extra a day by eating right, upping your metabolism or exercising to lose 1 pound a week. So, to lose 50lbs would be a full year of at 500 cals/day.

Good luck and stay healthy.
