Lose 50 Pounds FAQ:

My youngest child just turned one and I’m finally ready to say, “Goodbye, baby fat!” I have about 50 pounds to lose and would like to lose the weight in about 6 months. Is this a realistic & healthy expectation? Since I must begin exercising and change my entire way of eating in order to do this, do you have any helpful tips to help me reach my goal? For instance, what is a good calorie intake for someone like me? Thanks!

MY STATS:
Age - 31
Height - 5′6
Current Weight - 185
Goal Weight - 135
Main Problem Area - Belly
Current Lifestyle - Very Little Exercise, Non-Smoker
Current Diet - High Fat & High Carb

It is possible and your goal is healthy and reasonable. Start out with 3 basic changes. Drink 8 glasses of water a day, keep a food diary to help you stay in your daily calorie range (about 1200-1500), and get 30 minutes of exercise every day (it can be just walking fast for the first couple of weeks). Start with these 3 goals every day.

As time goes on you want to step up your exercise to a higher intensity and add in weight lifting. Building muscle helps you burn more fat.
