hello i am a health director at a skool and i need some help….i need some kids to lose 50 pounds before next june any tips on how…and if possible earlier than june thanks

put them on a diet and exercise program with rewards at every 5 pound loss. Thats only to keep em motivated tho. Bottom line is, you gotta make sure they wanna lose the weight, or else they will just keep it on.

might get mentors..

before and after photos…(in good taste)

Maybe get some stores to give prizes (like Walmart..gift certificate for new clothes).

Maybe you can get people to sign up to informally assist too.

Other teachers to help with diet and nutrition. etc.

and it is school…

Do an activity chart.

Chart out a bunch of physical activities they can do at home:

Mowing the lawn.
Riding your bike for 30 minutes.
Roller blading?
Helping mom weed the garden.

Etc.

They get a star for each accomplished (and witnessed by an adult)

For each 100 stars they get a special prize. If they get 1000 stars in the semester they get a BIG prize. I don’t know….just a thought. Might take some adjusting.

This is a good question for me because I helped my cousin with this. ok get them onto a secure diet program and get them to get rid of any high calorie foods that they may have at home. put them on certain exercise programs (you may have to make them different for each person) and make sure they keep drinking water as they do this. You can have them run, doing crunches, and any other types of exercise that you choose. I hope this helps!

I sure as hell hope you dont work at my child’s “skool” lol you are the health director, you should know the answers! If anything, we should be asking your questions, you’re a freakin health director!!♥

What I find with a lot of over weight kids is they have no place to work out and they’re families don’t eat very healthily.

I live in a friendly neighborhood where I can feel safe walking around alone. Most don’t have that. If you supply the kids with a safe place to exercise they’re more likely to do it.

As for their family’s eating habits, talk to the parents. If they support their kids losing weight they will be willing to cut back on eating out and start buying fruits and veggies instead of junk foods.

Another way to help the kids understand nutrition is to make booklets. On one page you could make a list of smart snacks and meals and on the opposite page a list of unwise munchies. You could also make a list of exercises they could do while watching TV or hanging around the house (Sit ups/push ups during commercial breaks. Wall sit for a minute every night before bed.)

LOL!!! What a liar. This guy posted like 3 different questions all about kids losing weight. He is really a self concious 13 year old who wants to lose weight himself but is too afraid to admit it.

Asking people how to lose weight on yahoo answers is a dumb idea, tbh. There really isn’t much more to say than eat less, eat healthy, and exercise. Get someone to help keep you accountable (use a dictionary…). If you stay movtivated, your chances of success will be higher.

Anyway, I laughed soooo hard when I read “skool.” Next time, just tell the truth, buddy. And good luck with your problem.
