I would forget about the 4 month time limit and focus more on maintaining a healthy new lifestyle. The ONLY way to lose weight is to expend (burn) more calories than you take in. This is accomplished best by a combination of decreasing the number of calories taken in AND increasing the number of calories burned. Switch your eating habits to fresh fruits and veggies, lean meats (chicken, turkey, fish) whole grain starches (brown rice, etc. not white) and decreasing portion size at meals. Writing down what you eat is a very good way of keeping track, since we have a tendency to underestimate how much we are actually eating. To increase calorie burn — MOVE. You can walk, run, cycle, anything that you will actually DO and do consistently. Add to that a little weight/strength training with free weights or resistance bands and you are on your way.
You don’t have to purchase anything or have any special equipment, just the desire to change your life.
I know there are some people who are against the atkins diet, but I personally think it’s the best way to jump start your diet. I went on it after I had a baby, and lost 50 pounds in less than 3 months! I started introducing more healthy carbs little at a time after I lost the bulk of the weight. I then just went on a healthy lifestyle type diet. I made sure to get sufficient amount of vegetables, fruits, protein, fiber, and water throughout the day. I also took a multi vitamin. I added exercise as well. cardio is the best way to speed up the weight loss process. I also added some strength training to my routine, it builds more lean muscle which can give you a faster metabolism to help aid in the weight loss process and allow you to eat a little more. I then lost the remaining 10 pounds a couple months after that. This is now more than a year later, and I either stay the same weight or I go down a couple pounds. If I can do this, seriously, ANYONE can. I have faith you can do it, before you decided to eat something very unhealthy, or not workout, or stop your diet just think about how bad you will feel about yourself, and how upset you would be at yourself. Just remember, after you’ve been very good for at least 2 weeks, let yourself have 1 meal of your choice once a week. It is a reward for keeping to your diet and exercise routine and it will be something to look forward to every week.
